Cokie Booth for Boulder City City Council

I want to represent Boulder City by preserving Boulder City’s heritage and traditions and to be a conduit for improvement.

Work and Volunteer History

Boulder City Boys and Girls Club. I ran for City Council when I first moved to town, I knocked on a lot of doors and realized there was a real need for kids.  They needed a safe place to play and have after school programs. We did not have little league fields, soccer, or BMX.  Children were getting tickets from the police for skateboarding in town. With the help of many wonderful people in Boulder City and a $50,000 grant from the National Boys and Girls Club we were able to fill those needs for many years.

1999 to 2000 I was awarded the Boy’s and Girl’s Club Women of the year.

Community Information TV Show with Cokie Booth

For many years I had a team that did a television show that allowed businesses to introduce themselves to the community if they were new, having a sale, or a new product. It also let the different organizations share their upcoming events or services they provided.

Dump the Dump.

In the mid-1990s, I was involved with “Dump the Dump,” a local group committed to keeping a class 4 landfill out of the Eldorado Valley. My role was that of an activist educating the community on the hazards of a class 4 landfill. We organized what we would say at city council meetings and provided information to local newspapers and distributed the Boulder Bugle weekly.

Planning Commission

Boulder City Planning Commissioner from 2006-2019. I enjoyed being able to serve my community.

Real Estate Agent Since 2000

I love working with people! One of the most important investments of most people’s lives is buying or selling their home. Being able to help a young family find their first home is so rewarding. I also handle property management plus manage 2 senior parks and a family park.

Boulder City Community Club

I have been president for two years and a member for years. I love that they raise money and give small donations to organizations, like the Senior center when the refrigerator went out. All money that is raised at Doodlebug Bizarre stays in Boulder City.

St. Rose Dominican

I worked there for 13 ½ years as materials manager. In that role, I oversaw shipping, distribution of supplies, and purchasing. I also computerized their system and

took them to the Just in Time delivery service to help streamline those systems.

State Cosmetology Board.

I was appointed to the Nevada State Board of Cosmetology by former governors James Gibson and Brian Sandoval. I served for eight years. We wrote and amended laws for cosmetology and had the power to fine or take licenses away. If someone was written up by the cosmetology inspector and had to come before the board for a hearing, we would listen to both sides, make a ruling if they we’re to be fined or have their license terminated. Sometimes the police department or another state agency like the health department would bring charges. Again, we would have to listen and make a ruling.

Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors

One thing GLVAR handles is the professional standards for realtors. If the public made a complaint regarding a real estate agent, there would be a hearing. We would listen to both sides and make a ruling. At the hearing if we found the agent in the wrong, we could require education, fine or turn them over to the real estate division. Especially if we felt they did something criminal or worthy of losing their license. I served on it until I termed out.

I also was accepted to the GLVAR Leadership program, 20 Nevada agents each year were accepted and appointed to participate.

Spring Jamboree

I host Bark in the Park to bring awareness to See Spot Run dog park.

Central Christian Church
